올 한 해 성악 수업을 열심히 들었다. 봄-여름-가을 세 학기를 꼬박들었는데 물론 예체능 분야가 일주일에 한번하는 수업으로 많은 성과를 볼 수 있는 곳은 아니라 큰 발전이 있었던 것은 아니다. 노래를 어릴 때 부터 못한다는 얘기만 듣고 자란터라 재능이 딱히 있었던것같지도 않고 말이다. 물론 좀 더 어렸을 때 배웠던 피아노 바이올린등의 악기도 그렇게 성공적이지 못했다.
큰 기대를 했다고 해야하나 그냥 무언가 좀 더 내가 즐길 수 있을 정도의 발전을 원했는데 결국 많은 걸 바랬다랬다는 생각이 든다. '내가 즐길 수 있다.' 그 기준이 참 애매한 것같다. 수업을 듣기전에도 나는 노래하는게 즐거운 일이라고 생각했다. 잘 할 수 있으면 더할나위 없겠구나하는 생각도. 그러나 30년 살면서 들었던 귀가 있긴한지라 '내가 들어서 인정할' 노래를 내가 부르기는 참으로 어려운 일이라는 것을 깨달았다. 하고 싶은 것들을 다 할 수 있는 것은 정말 대단한 복인것이다. 물론 할 수 있겠지만 그 과정을 즐기면서 살 수 도 있겠지만 '잘' 하지 못하면 살짝 아니만 아주 실망하게 되는건 어쩔 수 없는 것같다.(참조로 내가하는 노래 녹음 해봤는데 죽음이었다 ㅠ.ㅠ)
같이 올린 비디오는 최근에 발견한 부르고 싶은 노래 중에 하나다. 불어로 불러야 되서 더 힘들겠지만 이랬던 저랬던 안해보는 것보다는 좋지 않은가 하는것이 좀 더 좋은 생각같다.
